Do we personally have to do anything to start the process of having new business cards ordered?
No, as staff needs new business cards they will be produced with the appropriate logo.
Will we have to title the vehicle with the name Mechanics Bank?
Yes, but only for contracts dated on or after October 1, 2016. CRB Auto will supply new stamps for dealers that use stamps for titling purposes. You must make any changes necessary in your dealer DMS system.
Will there be a new address to send contracts for funding purposes?
No, our Dealer Service Centers and the current addresses will remain the same.
Will CRB Auto honor contracts dated and assigned to California Republic Bank on or after October 1, 2016?
Yes, CRB Auto will honor contracts dated on or after October 1, 2016 that are assigned to California Republic Bank, but they will require a separate assignment to Mechanics Bank.
Will CRB Auto honor contracts dated and assigned to California Republic Bank prior to the October 1, 2016?
Yes, CRB Auto will honor all contracts dated prior to October 1, 2016 that are assigned to California Republic Bank.
How will we assign contracts?
Effective October 1, 2016 all contracts need to be assigned to Mechanics Bank. Contracts prior to October 1 will be assigned to California Republic Bank.
Can a customer now make payments to any Mechanics Bank branch?
No. This may be a feature we offer in the future as a convenience to our customers.
Will the dealer reserve payment deposit still be deposited around the 1st of the next month, and will the depositor name now show Mechanics Bank?
For the near future, no bank accounts will be changed so reserve payments will still be made early in the month and will still come from California Republic Bank.
Will the merger affect ELT’s?
Yes. Different states have different dates to process the change. For states that cannot make the changes immediately, we will be provided a “Grace Period”.
Will we need to complete a new dealer agreement?
Good news! Any existing dealer agreement signed prior to October 1, 2016 will still be valid and a new agreement will not be required. There will be a new dealer agreement for dealerships signed up on or after October 1, 2016. The change in the dealer agreement will ONLY relate to the new name. Fundamentally, our dealer agreement will remain the same.
Will there be new phone number contact information for CRB Auto? Our contact information will remain the same.
Our best contact phone number is (855) 272-2886. Any existing direct contact information for credit analysts, funding processors, and customer service will also remain the same.
Will the name still be CRB Auto?
The trade name will remain CRB Auto, our logo will change to add a new “tagline” Powered by Mechanics Bank. IMPORTANT: After October 1, all titles will have to be completed as Mechanics Bank. Please see the titles section below for lienholder information.
