Joe Gambino, Owner of Gateway Chevrolet in Phoenix, and a big supporter of CRB Auto recently had the honor of throwing out the first pitch at the Arizona Diamondbacks baseball game!
Several days prior to his big moment, Joe talked to his good friend and former MLB manager, Tony La Russa, Chief Baseball Officer of the D-backs and told him he had been selected for the first pitch honor…LaRussa told him in no uncertain terms “Joe…don’t bounce it in…”
With a sellout crowd, Joe threw to D-backs catcher Jarrod “Salty” Saltalamacchia who set up deep in the box. Under all the pressure, not surprising, Joe threw a strike! With Salty set up deep…he actually trapped the first pitch.. After the pitch Salty went to shake his hand and whispered “Sorry Joe, I really should have caught that one up!”
Thanks to Joe Gambino on being a long time CRB Auto relationship partner!
